Preheat oven to 400°F
8 small chicken wings (about 1 ½ pounds)
½ cup onion, chopped
1 Tbsp. cider vinegar
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
2 Tbsp. dark brown sugar
⅓ cup ketchup
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
¾ tsp. dry mustard
¼ tsp. salt
¼ cup water
Tabasco sauce to taste
Remove the tips from the chicken wings and discard. Separate the other pieces, trimming off any excess fatty skin, if necessary. You will have sixteen little wing sections. Place the pieces on a shallow pan (or cookie sheet) and bake at 400°F for 15 minutes.
While the pieces are cooking, mix the remaining ingredients, adding as much Tabasco sauce as you desire.
Remove the wings from the oven and transfer them to a shallow 2-quart baking dish. Pour the sauce over the wings and return them to the oven, uncovered. Bake at 400°F for 20 minutes longer, spooning the sauce over the chicken and turning often. Serve warm.
