We provide a basket upon check in to collect the tulips. Simply reach down as close to the ground as you can, grab the bottom of the tulip stem, and gently twist to break the stem off from the bulb below the soil. Don’t worry if the bulb comes out of the ground when you pull up; you can either snap the bulb off or we can cut the bulb off when you check out.

Our PYO tulips are located in Lexington at 10 Pleasant St. Once you arrive at the farm, keep an eye out for signs directing you to the PYO entrance. Please note the easiest way to the field is down a set of stairs, and the tulips are of course located in our fields, which can be muddy/wet and rocky.

Yes, strollers are welcome at the farm, however, please note that the easiest way to the field is down a set of stairs, and ground conditions in the field and other areas may not be accessible for strollers and may be difficult to navigate, especially during wet weather.
There is handicapped parking available. This is a farm, so ground conditions and some areas may not be accessible by wheelchair and/or may be difficult to navigate, especially during wet weather.
Once you get home, fill a vase with cold water. Remove any foliage which will be below the water line in your vase. Re-cut the stem a half an inch from the base of the stem with a clean and sharp knife or scissors. Keep the tulips out of direct sunlight and warm locations. Check the water level of the vase daily, adding water when needed. Completely change the water at a minimum every three days.
If you were not able to get home right away after the PYO experience, and the tulips look a little droopy when you remove our wrap, follow the instructions above but re-wrap the tulips so that they are sitting wrapped in the vase with water until the next day to allow the tulips to firm up while drinking water.
If you see this happen, make sure there is enough water in the vase or change the water in the vase. You should then re-cut the stem a half an inch from the base of the stem with a clean and sharp knife or scissors. Keep the tulips out of direct sunlight and warm locations. Check the water level of the vase daily, adding water when needed. Completely change the water at a minimum every three days.
