Gingerbread for Gingerbread Houses
Ingredients Procedure

½ cup brown sugar, packed
½ cup butter, softened
½ cup dark molases
⅓ cup cold water
3 ½ cups all purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. ground allspice
2 tsp. ground ginger
½ tsp. ground cloves
½ tsp. ground cinnamon
⅛ tsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar (to taste)
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Preheat Oven to 350º Mix the butter, brown sugar, molasses, and water with an electric mixer. Add the rest of the remaining ingredients and mix well by hand. Divide in half and roll flat on a floured surface until a quarter inch thick. Cut panels to create the four walls, and 2 panels for the roof. (Making extra panels is a good idea in case of breakage) Bake for 10 to 12 minutes and place on a cooking rack until cool.
